Where To? From Apple patent squabble to featured app

Well, it turned out that Apple wasn’t trying to steal the functionality of the Where To? app for the Apple patent, but was merely using the homescreen’s likeness.
At any rate, relations between little Where To?, or actually FutureTap as the developer is known, and major-brand Apple are seemingly, well, just peachy these days.
In fact, Ortwin Gentz, FutureTap founder, says the Where To? app was recently picked by Apple as the iPhone App of the Week in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Where To? 3.7, which sells for $ 2.99, makes it easy to find local businesses as “found places” on a map or in a list broken out by distance.
The app has sold more than 300,000 copies, Gentz says.
And, an augmented reality module can be unlocked via an in-app purchase for $ 0.99.
